Dear Parents,

Today we began a collaborative project with a 12th grade government class at Monticello High School. We met them via Skype and talked about how we are members, or citizens, of our families. This week’s assignment is to think about our responsibilities at home. Please take some time with your child to help them complete this assignment. We will share our pictures and thoughts with the MHS students when we Skype again next Monday.

Thanks for your help,
Mrs. Huneycutt

Responsibility at Home

What Is Responsibility?

Talk with your family about the meaning of responsibility. Complete the questions orally together. You do NOT have to write anything down.

1. What are some of your responsibilities at home?

2. What does it mean to be responsible at home?

3. How does acting responsibly help you?

4. How does acting responsibly help the people around you?

5. How do you feel when people around you do NOT act responsibly?

On the paper provided, draw a picture of one of your responsibilities you (the student) have at home. Write a one-sentence caption beneath the picture describing what you do to be responsible.

If you draw the picture in pencil, you may use watercolors at school to paint the picture on Wednesday. You may also use markers or crayons at home if you would like.

This assignment is due next Wednesday, November 12.
